My Home is My Car

My Home is my car By Graclyn Granka My car, A place of comfort. I see trees and buildings passing by, I see new things like animals, the lake, new establishments and other families and their cars. This is home to me. I feel the warm seats and seat belt pushing against my chest. I feel myself looking out the window and staring into space. This is home to me. I smell the air fresheners and fresh air from the vents and open windows. This is home to me. I taste the bubblegum I'm chewing squish between my teeth and let flavours into my mouth. This is home to me. I hear the rumble of the engine and the honks from frustrated people stuck in traffic. I hear the music from the speakers. This is home to me. When I'm in my car I feel safe, relaxed and tired. As the trees and rocks and buildings go by, new thoughts pop into my head, like how animals live and adapt to cold and warm climates. I feel as if I closed my eyes, I would drift into a nap. When it's my family and I in the car I know that whatever happens we will always be together. Sometimes we just go for long drives in the countryside. We grab ice cream and drive down to the lake for a nice long walk. Our cars hold memories, good conversations and comfort. This is home to me. Home isn't just my house, home can be anything, your bed, your dining table, your couch, your tv. Home is different for everybody. For me, home is my car.
