Home Means Happiness

Home means happiness! I love my family and they love me. It is a big beige house with a gray door, where family and friends are welcome. When I walk home from school I don’t appreciate how much I have a home. Home has memories, happiness and much much more. Home is special and here’s why. Memories. Home means memories, where I remember all the birthdays that were celebrated. It means remembering all the days I played soccer with my dad and brother. Remembering family and the times they came over to have a good time. It means reminding myself about the times my brother and I had snowball fights and made forts. I also remember walking to the park to meet my friends and swinging on the bars. That reminds me of all the callouses I got from swinging on the bars. Practicing how to read and write, and how my parents struggled to teach me. Remembering all the times we had family movie nights and the smell of popcorn in the air. Love. Home means love. The smell of the baking experiments we’ve tried. The fact that I have a place to sleep and a roof over my head. The fact that some people don’t have what I have a roof, warm food to eat everyday and a family to see in the morning. That is the meaning of home to me. It could be the love or the memories. To everyone it means something different. What does home mean to you?
