What a home means to me. By Minahil Sherazi Do you ever sit down and take a moment to think about how grateful you are to have a home, to have a roof above your head, to have a family? In this essay I will tell you why it’s important that everybody feels safe in their homes and that they can make fun memories with the people around them and they can spend time having fun with the people in their homes. Memories are endless, I have so many memories but this memory of when I got a new home I can never forget. When we first got a new house it was like the beginning of a new chapter, a whole new place that’s very out of my comfort zone. Though I was happy to make new memories with my family. I still miss my old house but when I remember hanging out with my parents on the weekend in my new house or like when we baked cupcakes together I feel happy and proud. My mom would always take photos so that way we don’t forget all the fun memories we had together and all the fun times we spent together. A picture is worth a thousand words, but a memory is priceless. Do you have shelter in your house, do you feel like you have security? I am so grateful to have a roof above my head and I think everyone should also be grateful that they have shelter and they should ever not be greedy. Whenever there’s a storm outside I get scared, but then I think about how I have a roof to keep me safe and many people don’t. It is very important that everybody feels safe and secure when they are in their homes. Whenever I’m home I feel safe because I am with my family and they are the ones who keep me safe all the time. Everybody needs to have security, without security I don’t think it’s very safe at all. To me, a home means a nice warm and cozy place where you can feel safe and you feel like you have security. That’s everything a home needs to be an actual home. Do your siblings ever take your things without permission or your mom always makes you clean your room? Yes! That’s relatable. That's what my family always does and they are the reason my house is always happy. My family is everything that makes my home a home and I love them to the moon and back. The love my family has given me my whole life is like a delight chocolate fudge cookie I can never forget the taste of. Every day in the evening my house smells like delicious dinner cooking in the kitchen with me and my family waiting in the dining room laughing and giggling with joy til my mom comes and gives us dinner. I love to watch TV together with my family. Every weekend me and my family watch movies together. Whenever my dad is not busy we watch a show called Stranger Things together. Spending time with your families is so important, with no family time we can feel really lonely and that’s why it is important to spend enough time with your family. Without my family I would be nothing, that’s why I always need them to be by my side. I hope by reading through this essay I explained how important it is to make special memories and spend time with your family, to feel safe and to have security. I did my best to show you to be grateful for memories, security and family because many people don’t have these things.
