Home Sweet Home

written by Jessica Le Some people might not have a house but they will always have a home. My home is comfortable and that makes my happy switch turn on. Not being safe is a problem but many things can make you feel safe. Family can help with most of the problems in your life. These three things can make a home a true home. Comfort can make me as happy as an hungry animal realizing it can eat some food now. My house is comfortable. My bed is soft and comfy and it makes me feel comfortable. I peacefully sleep on my bed and sleep is really important for you to have a healthy day. When I wake up in the morning, my brain jumps up and down softly, ready to start the day. The problem is, my bed is too comfy. My wonderful family is like an “automatic comfort machine” that makes you comfortable already. If I’m not comfortable or I’m sad, they can use their way of helping ( that’s like magical powers) to make me feel much better. The food at my home is so delicious. The deliciousness makes me feel more calm and comfortable. It also makes me feel like the amazing taste is running through my “happiness center” in my body. If I’m hungry, I’m not that comfortable so I eat and I feel comfortable again. I wonder if your home is as comfortable as mine. Safety is important for everyone in the world. There are things I feel safe around. I am grateful for having a protective roof over my head to protect me from the rain, storms and the snow. Someone could get inside the house just by climbing the solid wall outside and jumping inside my beautiful home from the giant space on the top of my home where the roof is supposed to be if I didn’t even have a roof. My family can protect me. I feel safe around my family. If something dangerous happens they can protect me and themselves too. When the door is open, I don’t feel safe. I would be scared because someone could come and kidnap me. At least a door can lock and unlock but when it is locked it feels more safe. When the door is locked and closed, it is less likely for a stranger to come inside my wonderful home that I am grateful for. I will always remember how safe I am in my home and that I’m grateful for it. “ Family is not an important thing, it’s everything.” - Michael J. Fox. Family is really important to me. My parents help me go through stressful times to celebrate happy times. They make food for me and I’m grateful for them making this wonderful home in my life. My brother bought me things and he is nice. He got me a Huion drawing tablet, he built a computer and gave me a monitor and he does a whole lot of things for me. He is also nice for the other people in the family and helps me be good in school. He is also funny and that makes me happy. I know I am part of my family and I deserve to be. I know everyone deserves to be in their own family. I helped myself and I thought of all this stuff that I am thankful for. Family is the last piece of the puzzle that puts everything together in a home. Everyone has a wonderful home. My home is comfortable and makes me happy. Safety is important at all times and family is wonderful when you need something. You don’t need all of these things to have a perfect home, your home can be perfect in other things, like being fancy.
