Houses Aren't Homes

Home is a magical place to be, it isn't just any house but its your house where you chased your parents around, your room where you had the best dream of your life, your table and chairs where you eat that delicious oatmeal your mom made, your couch where you played board games at family night, that's what makes it home to me. Home is something we all need, it gives us shelter from that thunderstorm that got you scared, it brings us together like when your absolute best friend came over and you had the best time ever, home is a thing that everyone deserves to have, where you can laugh and play, where you can be loved and recognized. Home is a special thing that everyone deserves to have, no house is a home until it's filled with memories good and bad, until it's got the furniture you recognize, no normal house shall do for anyone, what they need is a home. Everything about home is familiar and old, it's where adventures take place, where you can feel wanted and like you aren't an alien in this big world. And yet so many people don't have a home or are going to lose it, they will likely never experience the same laughing and joy we do, the same adventures and make believe stories we do, and likely won't ever be able to live their life like they are supposed to. This is something we need to fix, something we have to change or else all will fall into sadness and misery as all people of different backgrounds lose their homes. Habitat for humanity has managed to help by making good homes for amazing families so people can experience the joys we take for granted that come with living in a home.
