The Meaning of Home

Have you ever wondered what the difference between a house and a home is? Well, that’s what I’m about to tell you. A house is made with concrete while a home is made with love. It doesn't have to be just family that you can make a home with, it can be anyone you care about or anyone who is close to you. A house can give you security and it can make you feel safe. But the real thing that makes us feel safe, is that we are with our loved ones. Even though “house” is a bigger word than home, home has a much bigger meaning than the word house. When you go out to your friends house, you're always formal but when you're in your own home, you can behave any way you want without being judged. Every human and animal deserves a home. I think a home is a basic necessity just like food or water. A lot of people may think that a home is a place, but I think that it's a really warm feeling, just like eating chocolate or sitting down after a long day of working. Home is like a week, every day has a fun memory to remember. When the week comes to an end, it will come again and just keep going with new memories that are filled with joy. A home gives people a feeling like being in warm blankets by the fireplace on a cold winter night and drinking hot chocolate with extra whip cream. I am grateful for Habitat for Humanity because they help house people so that they can experience HOME.
