Home is Special

Home. A house makes a home, but a home is so much more. Home is a place where you can live. My family gathers every night to share a meal. You feel cozy, safe and warm. What does a home smell like? When I walk in the door after school I smell my mom’s cooking in the kitchen. She makes all my favorite foods like chicken, rice, and homemade cookies or biscuits. At home, you can taste any kind of meal you want. I love it when we have big family dinners and all our friends and family can come over to celebrate. I get to taste a feast and share all about what we did that day together. Home is special because it feels warm, cozy, and you sleep safe at night. Home can protect you from thunderstorms, snowstorms, and other things. You can do lots of things at home like spending time with your family, playing board games, and playing with your friends and family. Home makes you feel special, loved and safe. Home sounds like people talking and laughing. Home is my mom saying, “good night and I am proud of you.” Home can be the sound of the TV as we all watch a movie together on the weekend. Snuggled up close together. When I come home after school the first thing I see is a beautiful home full of rooms. Each room contains photos, memories and special items from Pakistan, where my family is from. My favorite place in my house is my room because it is just for me and all of the things that make me feel special are in there. You should always be grateful for what you have, because some people don’t have a house or home. Home is special to me and I am lucky to have such a wonderful home. If you have any kind of home, you should be grateful for what you have because having a home is an incredibly special gift.
