The Meaning of Home

A house is a building with walls, floors, roofs, windows, pillows and so so many more but a home is a feeling. Feeling of care, support, comfort, love, family, peace, warmth and safety. Home is family. When I am having a bad day at school and I walk right through my doors and I can already tell that my family will be there for me when I need them. When my mom walks through the door, I am ready to give her a hug just because she does it to me when I had a bad day or even a good day. It is a nice thing to do for your family. Right when I step one foot into the door they say “How was your day?” and it brings me so much joy. Some people don’t have that, they don’t have a family to live with.Home is family. Home is safety.I think a home should always have safety because some people don’t feel safe when they go home and that affects how they live and what to do in life.I know that I am safe in my home because I have locks on my door and 2 really strong adults that will protect my brother and I. Also if I get hurt and I tell my parents they will make sure that I am ok and that they will do whatever it takes to make me safe and healthy. Home is a feeling of safety. Home is comfortable. When I walk in the door I feel warmth and comfort because it is where I live and my house is MY house, so it is familiar, filled with memories of my family. Where I sleep and where I am comfortable. Whenever I come back from a sleepover at my friends house, I am so excited to be back in my warm, comfortable, happy home and bed!!! Home is comfortable. A house is built with walls and roofs , but a home is not just your home it is a feeling. A feeling of safety when you are in it, your loving family, comfort of warmth and happiness and lots more!
