What home means to me

To me home is where you can go to be safe, cared for and loved. Most people think that home is a house made of wood, nails and concrete, but home is where you like to be, where your family is where your pets are. Home is where you can make memories with your family, funny and sad. Home can be where you trust the people around you, like your friends, your neighbors and your family. Have you ever heard parents say “hometown”? It’s exactly as it sounds, it is where their home is, where they grew up or where they like to be. home is where the people around you care for you and help you grow to be a great human being. You may think home is where your cars are and where your food is and where your bed is, but home is where you like to be and where you wish to stay and grow up. Home is something you should never take advantage of because some people do not have a home and you should be grateful that you have a home instead of taking advantage of it. There is a significant difference between a house and a home, a house is stone, wood, and other building supplies, but home is where you get loved, you are safe, happy and play with other people around you. At home you can play board games, watch a movie, and just talk with your family and friends. Some people do not know the difference between the meaning of “home” and “house,” but some people take both for granted and do not realize how important home is and some people do not have either a house or a home to stay. When you see people on the street you probably don’t think much of it, but these people do not have houses to live in and homes where they can go to see their family, that is why we call them homeless. Home is important, if you hurt yourself, you can go get a band aid from your home and your family will take care of your injury. If you have a sickness, you can go rest inside your house, but some people that are homeless cannot go into a house and rest in a warm bed. Everyone can take home for granted and not even realize it. Sometimes people can go through a hard time being homeless and in the United States they do not get free health care and cannot go to a hospital and pay the expensive hospital bill. At home you can watch a movie with your family and play games like Monopoly or Checkers etc. Some people prefer to not spend time with their family and regret it later in life. This is how important home is and you should always be grateful that you have it.
