This is my home

My home is a place where I can be safe , comforted and loved by my amazing family. My home is me and my family in the backyard sitting near the fire pit roasting marshmallows and making s’mores . Hearing the laughter at the dinner table and eating my grandma's homemade carrot cake, yum! Home is sitting in the basement watching and eating buttery popcorn and thinking this is what home is. My home, Vineland, Ontario. Me and my friends on a hot summer day riding our bikes to the local ice cream shop and eating our favorite flavors. Home is watching hockey with my family and cheering on our favorite teams. Home, baking with my mom and using home made recipes and tasting befores it's done and thinking, so good! Home, getting off the bus and taking my dog for a walk and seeing his bright blue with his name on it collar glimmering in the sunshine. Canada is my home. The maple syrup on my pancakes and the smell of poutine in the air yum! From the mountains and the forest on the West Coast to the salty sea and air on the East Coast. From the prairies out in Saskatchewan to the Canadian shield in Ontario, this is home. Thanks to the habitat for humanity meaning of home project I hope that a family can call home in one of these beautiful provinces or territories.
