My Home

If my home was a yellow sunset, mighty and dazzling to look at, it would be my favourite feeling. If my home were a sound, it would be my brother and I talking, laughing and making noises. If my home were a feeling, it would be the best feeling in the world. If my home were a taste, it would be my family eating my mother's delicious Indian food. If my home were a type of sight, it would make me cry joyful tears If my home were a smell, it would smell like a bouquet of flowers on a beautiful crisp pink sunrise If it were the sense of touch, I would be snuggled up in the thickest blankets in the coldest winters, eating a warm meal sitting in front of the fireplace. It would be like a cloud. But no ordinary cloud, a cloud of gratefulness and gratitude because of my parent's sacrifice coming here for a better life for us, some nights we went to bed happy crying tears of joy because our parents left everything behind them like family, traditions and dreams left behind for us and I appreciate their success in Canada now our relatives can come from India without worrying about anything like no money, being disrespected and not being able to go back to India to see other family and friends. Fortunately, there is no need to worry because Habitat for Humanity provides a safe community and a roof above our heads and all of this for affordable pricing with people like the Habitat for Humanity team give a place to call home to people in poverty around the world to nearly 70 different countries.
