What is The Meaning of Home?

Home. What does it mean? Many people think that home is the building where you live. What if you don’t have a house? Do you still have a home? Some people may believe that home is where you live, where you feel attached to. It may not have to be a building. Others might think that home is where you first laid your eyes upon, when you were born. To someone who’s lived in one place all their life, the meaning of home may be clear: their house. What if you asked someone who doesn't live in a building? Could they have a home if they don’t have a shelter? Maybe they could. To someone who’s lived in many different places, as an immigrant like me, home may not be definite. Can it be your home country, with its culture, languages, and people? Home could also be your family. Your pets. What you treasure most. You may still have a home even if, like me, you have lived in many different places. To me, which house or country I live in doesn’t affect my home. My family is my home, no matter where I am.
