Meaning of Home

Home is where it’s safe. For me my homes are Malaysia, Singapore, Korea and Canada. I lived in Malaysia for one and a half years. It felt like home because there were lots of Koreans, and I was learning English. For Singapore I lived there for one year. In Singapore it felt like home because I was with my family and I got to see similar things to my home in Korea. In Canada I have now lived here for 2 years. Canada feels like home because I know more about Canada and feel comfortable here. Lastly, I was in Korea for 6 years. In Korea, it felt like home because I was born there and I could see the awesome view, I could hear my cousins and my brother playing video games. I could feel the fresh air and smell my grandma’s fantastic cooking. In my home there were different people such as friends, cousins, grandparents, parents and siblings. My friends and cousins lived in the same apartment. My grandparents lived far away but they visited a lot. I always felt new, happy, sad, scared and hyper. I felt sad because I had to move. I felt scared because I didn’t know how it was going to look like. I felt new and happy because we were moving! I am grateful for the many houses I have lived in, but as long as I am with my family, I am home.
