Home

A home is where memories are made. And the grass in the back, that’s vibrant jade. A home, I feel safe there. As I sleep in my underwear. And my mom makes good food with such love and care. I’m in my room, on my phone. As I hear my mom say, “Dom, dinner,” in a sweet tone. And I rush down the stairs, to be in surprise. To see my mom has made chicken and fries. I sit down to eat, say “thanks” to my mom. I show her my math test and then she says “Dom.” She gives me a hug, so filled with glee. For 100% is what she sees. It’s sad to hear that some people don’t have a home. But Habitat for Humanity gives the gift of a home. And that my friends, is the end of my poem.
