Home is a place where you are accepted Where you are free to be who you are Where you don’t have to hide Home is a place where nobody judges Where you can sing as loud as you want Where you can dance as much as you want Home is a place where you feel welcome Where you feel comfortable Where you feel loved Home is a place where you are happy Where you can smile, big, bright smiles Where you can laugh, long, loud laughs Home is a place where you can get away Where you can rest and relax Where you can take time for yourself Home is a place where you feel important Where you honor your achievements Where you feel proud Home is a place where you have privacy Where you have your own space Where you don’t need to share everything Home is a place where you feel safe Where you shouldn’t be scared Where you are protected In my home I am accepted, I am not judged, I am welcome, I am happy, I can get away, I feel important, and I feel safe. Everyone should be able to feel this way. But not everyone does. Hopefully, using the Meaning Of Home, Habitat For Humanity Contest, more people will. More people will have a home.
