My Safe Home In Canada

My Safe Home In Canada By: Zahra Home looks like my mom, my dad, my sister, my brother, and my doll named Candy Cane. Home sounds like the wind blowing and my sisters jumping on the bed. Home smells like my Mom’s homemade pizza, chocolate cake, and chicken nuggets. It also smells like stinky diapers. Home tastes like my Mom’s delicious homemade pizza, chicken nuggets and nice shawarma. Feels like my favourite hijab that has flowers and silver beads. Home makes me feel thankful and happy to have a safe home. I feel safe in my house, but I miss my cousin who is back in Afghanistan. I came to Canada because my family was in big danger. So we got a home in Canada to be safe. It's nice and it's hot and my mom cooks me good food to eat and makes hot chocolate so I can sit down at the window and watch the snow fall when I go to sleep. I was so scared in Afghanistan. I could hear loud shots being fired. I do miss my cousins, but my mom told me not to worry because one day they'll come to Canada one day. Now Canada is my home. In the morning when I wake up, I eat my breakfast then I go to school. At school I am sometimes the leader of the day, it feels good to be bossy (and free). Home is Canada.
