Home

Home. What is home? That was a question I had to ask myself. Home is more than a house. Home is going to a place after filled with a loving and caring family in a safe and happy environment. Some couldn’t say the same. Home could be a food. Home is smelling fresh poutine in the air, feeling the warmth of a hot chocolate touching my lips on a frosty winter day, and the stickiness of maple syrup in between my fingers. Home could be the nature around you. Home is seeing the Quebec skyline from the lookout. It’s the feeling you get when you see the beautiful shining lakes surrounded by an outline of enormous maple trees blocking the light from the setting sun. Home could be the weather. Home is the leaves changing colours, the first snowfall of the season ,and a water balloon fight on a hot sunny day. Home could be my country. Home is the many Timmies and ice rinks everywhere, the beautiful french culture, and watching team Canada play in a packed arena or stadium. Home is whatever you want it to be. I’m grateful to Habitat For Humanity for helping people find out what home means to them.
