Home to me

To me, a home is a place I can be myself. Home is my dog greeting me as I get out of my car from church. My dad hugs me and tells me “I love you” as I walk to my room for bed. I smell freshly baked cookies as I walk through the door from getting home from school. To me, a home is a place I feel safe in my heart. When I’m home I can feel myself. Home isn't just where I sleep and eat. It is where I am with my family. Home is where memories are made. Home is an excellent sturdy place where I know I am safe. I am wanted, loved, and cared for at home. Home is where all my memories are made and never forgotten. So with that, everybody deserves a home. Not the side of a street or a tent, definitely not. A home. You too should feel safe at your home where ever that is. That is what home means to me.
