What Home Means To Me

Home has a place in my heart. It's not the house you live in, it's the community around you, it is the memories you make with your loving family. What I like to do with my family is play games like Kings In The Corner, Rummikub, and What Do You Meme? We also like to do family movie nights. We love watching Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, DC movies, and comedies. Some of our favourites are Christmas movies. We love doing outdoorsy activities like hiking, hockey, snowmobiling, biking, paddleboarding, swimming, wakesurfing, tubing (both snow and water), dancing, fishing, and sledding. One of my family's favourite events is Christmas. We all get together to decorate the tree. We listen to Christmas music by the fireplace with Turtle flavoured hot chocolate, beer, and wine (for the adults of course). On Christmas day we open our presents and go sledding at Turtle Corner. Our second favourite event is New Year's Eve. We go snowmobiling with a bunch of friends and have them over for dinner. My family's most popular event is the Penticton hockey camp. All the kids go to hockey school from 7am-3pm and all the parents go on wine tours, the beach, the pub, neighbourhood brewing and E-biking. We also go to a hockey camp in Clearwater. The person who runs it is one of my parents' friends, so we go to the camp every year. It happens in August and all the kids are in the camp from 8am-2pm. After we get back from hockey we go swimming and watch a movie that our friends put on. They always bring a huge projector and they put a movie on to a white bed sheet that hangs at the end of their trailer. After that we usually play games with our friends in the trailers or at the dock. While we are doing all that fun stuff, the parents are either watching us or mountain biking. -These are the things that make up my home, traditions, and family fun.
