What Home Means to Me

When I wake up, I smell the coffee my mom made and the pine tree we put up for Christmas. I see my dog playing in the backyard, eggs on the table and my drawings I drew with my brothers. I hear birds singing (that makes me sleepy.) I taste fresh juicy watermelon and the candy canes I snuck from the Christmas tree. I taste the fresh veggies I picked from the garden and hot cookies that came out of the oven. As I lay down on my cozy bed with my dog, I feel the soft warm blanket and my dog's soft fur. This makes me feel safe and warm. As I get up from my bed I smell the pine from our pine tree, so me and my family decided to decorate it. This makes me feel happy and safe. Late at night I hear barking and I always know that it's my dog barking at the deer in our lawn. So, I grab my dog and snuggle him until I fall asleep. In the morning I hear sizzling and laughing. I get up and my grandma is here! I eat breakfast (sausages) with her, and I wave at her when I watch her car leave our driveway. My home is where my family is, home is where I feel safe and welcome.
