Meaning of Home
Home is a place where our story begins, where we start low and then grow.
Home is where I’ve learned to crawl, stroll, talk and roll, but I bet there will be lots more to come.
Home is a place that unites us all, it's a place filled with love and life.
Home is not just some bricks and beams; it is built of hope and dreams.
Home is not just a big box with some lights; it is like a magic box full of memory, laughter and love.
I can reveal my inner self inside that box, and I can unveil what might be shielded away.
I can be myself, and do all that I enjoy, showing my true self with lots of joy.
Home is like a mother who protects us.
Whenever there’s a storm, my home keeps me safe and warm.
Whenever I am scared, I turn on lights and hug tight inside.
While I can wake up to a beautiful home, many can’t and that’s not right.
They simply wish to have a roof and four walls to snuggle into with their loved ones.
Though their wish is simple and just, cold nights don’t help, nor do the tears they shed when they have nowhere to sleep, not even a single bed.
Everyone deserves a home no matter what is their fate.
Charities make a change, and so can we by writing some words on a page.
Writing a poem will not just build a shelter, it will create a home for a family so they can thrive inside.
As Saadi wisely said “Human beings are parts of each other; for in creation they are from one essence. If one part is afflicted with pain, other parts uneasy will remain.”
I’d like to help and if you too just sing along, we can build a future where everyone belongs.
