It's More Than A House

My home is somewhere where all are welcomed, accepted and noticed. But some "homes” are hateful and may be the opposite. But home isn't just a void filled with bricks and cement. It’s a feeling you have while your futures are set. I'm thankful that I have a house to stay in but I still constantly try to maintain a home. I don’t have a perfect home, no one ever will, but it shouldn’t be a house to be called a home because you shouldn’t have pay a bill to have one. And yes I can't fully speak for the people that have no house or no home, all I can say is that they deserve much more than received. Otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this poem if I’d thought any different. My hopes for this poem, even if I don’t win: I hope that this poem and the many other poems will raise a lot of money going towards the building and donations, because people deserve to have a safe place to feel special And to be comforted.
