What home means to us

What “Home” means to you By: Ari, Zarin and Eiliyah Grade 4 and Grade 6 What does “Home” really mean to you? Home is a place where everyone feels safe. Some people don’t have a home. Home is a shelter to stay warm and dry. This wondrous place is a place where you put all your important things! Home means different things to different people, and that is why we should learn to appreciate our home and know what it really means. Home can protect you in many different ways. Home can protect you from bad weather like storms. It shelters you from rain and snow and some have basements to protect you from tornadoes, hurricanes and many other harsh storms. These are just some ways it can protect you. Home can protect you from many other things, and not just bad weather. Home holds most of our important things. It holds our food, our toys, our books, our beds and other furniture. It even holds our biggest memories. Lots of those things are important to us, but let’s give a big thanks to the thing that holds it all… Lots of events take place in your home. Events like parties, dinners, and other get-togethers. You can also have some privacy in your house like you can go to the washroom and change. You can also take a bath or a shower. Home is an important place and even an important thing! That is why we have to know why it is important and what it really means to you…
