My Definition of Home

Home. A simple word with many meanings. Home isn’t only made out of walls, windows, or doors. It’s made with friendship, laughter, forgiveness, and most of all love. Home can mean many things for many different people, but for me, home is a place where my loved ones are. Home is so much more than the aspects that make up a house. It’s where you have felt the most love, had the best laughs and where you had your biggest and brightest smiles ever. Home is where you can express yourself and be yourself. Make memories with friends or family that will last a lifetime. It’s where you grow up wanting to leave, and grow old wanting to get back to. Home was once just a house, but the bond of a family made it their home. The best thing about home is who you share it with. You may not have to be under a roof to feel at home. It could be when you spend time with your friends and family. Though for guests it may seem like a plain and simple home, for me it feels like there is joy and happiness all around. A house is made with bricks and beams. A home is made with hopes and dreams.
