A Home of Your Own
A house is not necessarily a home. Home is where you feel accepted as who you are. Home is where you feel loved and cared for.
A house is a building with four walls and a roof, but a home has so much more to it, it can hold memories, feelings and people.
My house is nice but what makes it my home is how my family, pets and heart live there.
Prince-Edward-Island is also my home and the home of many other people. Home is the world, North America and Canada.
Even if you move you can make anything your home if you open your heart up to it. It can be big, small or tall.
Some people don't get the chance to have a roof over their heads but they find a home in something else.
I can hear the chattering and the gossiping of my family and loved ones talking openly and honestly when I walk in the door. I can hear the laughing and the crying of the people showing emotions. The screaming, the dreaming and the whispering. These are all sounds you can hear in your home.
I can feel my warm and comfortable bed as I go to sleep late at night. I can feel the love in the air and in my heart. I can feel my full belly happy as I cuddle up and watch shows.
If you are looking for a home of your own you shouldn't have to look too far, just look in your heart.
Wherever you are, whatever you feel home is a place no one can steal.
Thank you Habitat for Humanity for the chance you give to all others to feel accepted, loved and cared for in their own home.
