Meaning of home

What does home feel like to you? I live with my dad and my stepmom 4 days a week. The other days I live with my mom. To me, home feels like getting home from school to play with my dog and she loves playing with her bone. Home feels like me picking up my fluffy bunny and my dog gets excited when I hold her. Home smells like a vanilla candle burning. Home sounds like my cat, Annabelle, meowing for food. I see how excited my dog is when I come home from school. When I open my front door I see my dog standing there wiggling her tail with her toy in her mouth, it makes me really happy. I bet you have memories like this. 1 in 8 Canadian households does not have a safe place to call home. Some people just have a house. A home and a house are completely two different things. A home is a feeling, not a place. A home is somewhere you feel safe, like what I explained. A house is a place that you might go to after school but it doesn't feel safe, a house is a building but a home can be where you live with your family. You have fun, you feel loved.
