The Meaning of Home

Home isn’t just four walls surrounding you or me. It’s a person, animal, or object. That person should make you feel safe when you are with them no matter what. They shouldn’t judge you for who you are and they should care for you, help you, and protect you no matter what. Home is where you can be yourself, and nobody else, just yourself. An object could be a phone where you can call loved ones that you can’t see in person. Or it could be a plant, a stuffed animal, or a baby blanket. Home to me smells like flowers. It smells like a field of roses. Flowers have always brought me comfort, so that is what it reminds me of. At home, you shouldn’t have to listen to constant fighting from your siblings, parents, guardians, or grandparents. Home should be a safe place where everyone can love each other, not people screaming and fighting. Everyone deserves a caring, loving home. Even people who may be rude to you. Some people don’t have an amazing home and use certain things to escape reality. Some may find school an escape, baking an escape, cleaning an escape. I have always found music my favourite thing to listen to when I need something to do. My point is that everyone deserves a home and everyone deserves people who love them and care for them. Even though times are tough right now God has a plan for you, and that plan will always have somebody in your home with you during your journey.
