Home: What Does It Mean To You?

Home is not just a place. Yes, you may have heard this saying many times before, but do you really know what it means? Before I begin, think about what the word ‘home’ means to you. Alright, now that you know what the word ‘home’ means or at least, means to you, let me tell you what home is to me. Many of my memories come from Christmas or holidays that are celebrated in my home. But, my family loves to go camping and whenever we are in our trailer, that feels like home, too. Whenever I have a sleepover, I get quite sleepless because I’m not at my house with the same people, the same bed and the same smell. I have a very special saying that was on a sign in our house. It said: “Home is where the heart is.” I think this saying is very nice and is, in some way, quite true. Home can mean many different things. For example, ‘home’ might mean a place that you sleep in. Or the word might mean something you are wishing to have. Either way, I can promise you that even though you think home means something totally different from what I am saying, that is just what I think. But, before you finish reading this, please know that even though you might not know it, somewhere out there is your home. It might be hard to find at first or possibly very easy, but overall, it’s out there. You might just have to find it.
