My Meaning of Home

What is a house? What is a home? Two very different questions and they don't necessarily mean the same thing. A house is a building, a place with walls and a roof. A home is a place of family and peace; a place of love and kindness; and a place where you aren't scared or frightened. Home is something better than you could ever imagine. It's where you can be yourself and express your feelings. With a home, you aren't alone, you have brothers, sisters, pets, parents, grandparents and so much more. It's a place of memories that highlight everywhere you go. Home is family. Family is something that sits in your heart for your entire life; it's not a building. A home is where your family is, where love is, and where you're loved and supported. A house is not always something that is positive, but a home is a more powerful word and thing. So if you're ever feeling ungrateful, think about this: some people don't have a house or a home, they’re out on the streets thinking that they don’t need a house, because where they are is their home. Even though they are having a really hard time in the heat or cold they are still out there smiling, and they are so grateful to at least be somewhat happy. When people are kind they know that they will get through this tough time, and that they will eventually have a peaceful, great journey learning new things as they go. And no matter what, you should always be grateful. Love what you have, and the world will thank you. It's only a matter of time until you have moved out from your parents/gardiens house that was your home and now you have one of your own. Eventually you will thank yourself for cherishing those moments at home, because life is short, so make the most of it. This is what the meaning of home is to me.
