You Need a Home, not a House

The meaning of home is different for anyone, but for me family, happiness, my stuff, my dog, weird inventions, that I had fun making. So what I am trying to say is home is where I feel free and welcomed, while still maybe in a small house or even a big house, as long as I feel welcomed. A house is a building with windows and maybe a door. A home is a place I will come to every day and be happy that I am here with a smile on my face. You just get a feeling that you are just in the place you are meant to be in. You may walk into my house and see thousands of shoes or a messy bedroom, or even maybe a picture of my family doing something no one has ever seen before, because we are a family that stays in our home, the home we made. A mess or a really clean home it's a home. While I may have all this, you may too, but why I say maybe is because many people don't have a home, may have a house. That's different, you don't feel happy or you walk in and you don’t find a purpose in staying in this house. No smiles, or having fun. I would be devastated and anxious about it if I even stay. But it's not all about who it is, what it is or where it is, it's how you feel, or how you just feel a sense of happiness. Even a smell, if it smells like a home, for me the smell is barbeque sauce. It could be anything. Empty storage containers, anything. From weird, fun, to useless, to even just talking, if it feels like a home, it's a home.
