Meaning of Home

Home is not a place, it is a feeling. My home is where I feel good, safe, and comfortable. When I am at home I feel like nothing can harm me, not the freezing cold winds, or the dark chilly nights. Home is my favorite place to go. If I have a bad day, I feel happy when I come back home and talk to my family or just relax. When I am unwell, I feel better knowing that I have a pleasant home to go back to. After a long day, I would love to come back, sit on a snug chair and just rest in my home, even if it's a place other than my actual house. I feel at home in many different places, whether it’s another country or city. I was born in India and used to live in a big house there. When we came to Canada, we lived in three different houses. The first was a tiny apartment, the second, a townhome, and now we live in a bigger house. I loved each one. Each one felt like home. Home is one of my favorite places to be, no matter where it is! For me, home is wherever my family and friends are. It is where my dog waits for me every day to come home after school, and give him a belly rub. It is where I smell the delicious aroma of food getting cooked by my mom. It is where I see my dad painting in his studio. It is where I never see my brother but know he is there “working” behind the closed door to his room. Ultimately, my home is not a place, but a feeling of happiness and comfort.
