Home: Where You Can Truly Be Yourself

After a long day at school or work, all you want to do is go back home. You want to feel safe and happy, surrounded by those you love and who love you. You want to feel at peace like you belong. You want to feel at home. Many people feel at home most when they’re in their house. They feel calm, content, relaxed, and appreciated. If you had a bad day, you are bound to feel better once at home. Feeling at home doesn’t necessarily mean you are in a building; houses and homes are two very different things. Construction workers may make houses out of brick and cement and then set a price for it, but the environment you create in it is priceless. Home can be anywhere that you feel your best. For example: in the woods, your home town, etc. Personally, I feel at home most when I am with my friends and family. It makes me feel safe like nothing can hurt me. I feel untroubled; all my worries go away. Of course, everyone has different opinions, so where you feel at home most can vary. However, the feeling is always the same. In conclusion, a home is a place where you feel you can truly be yourself without feeling judged or ashamed of who you are.
