What Home Means To Me

To me ‘’home’’ is a happy place where you can feel cozy, comfortable, and calm when you're in it. Home is a place that makes you feel happy when you call it your home. For me there is a big difference between ‘’house’’ and ‘’home’’. A house could just be a building or structure that one lives in. But home is somewhere that you could feel happy and/or loved. A home is also some where you could be yourself and not feel like you are being judged. Thinking about how more than 75% of people in Canada that can’t afford to have a home makes me have lots of mixed feelings. At first I feel very sad after thinking about how many people there are that don’t have a home. But after I think about it a bit more I feel lucky that I have a place that I can call home. Habitat for Humanity helps people that can’t really afford to have a place that them and their family can call home. I know this is a short story but I hope it makes a big difference and I hope that people can understand what good Habitat for Humanity does for people in Canada.
