The Meaning of Home

I am pretty sure you’ve all heard phrases like, “Home is where the heart is,” and, “There’s no place like home,” but what does it exactly mean? What is home to me? The meaning of home is different for everyone, but we all have something in common. We feel safe and accepted in our homes, we enjoy being there. It provides happiness, life, security, and privacy. For me, the warmth and safety of my home is something I’ll never experience elsewhere… Well, maybe a sauna though. Someplace where we can relax and be ourselves. Home means comfort to me, and I know that feeling will always be there. It is a place of love and comfort, and when I need it, it welcomes me with open arms. Home helps me take a break from my worries. You can even say it sort of consoles me. I value and appreciate my home, it’s accepting, comforting and where I can truly be myself. It consoles me in the darkest days. It’s sometimes hard to be lonely, so I invite a few friends into my home too (while staying safe of course). When you are at home, you feel comfortable and safe in the situation you’re in. To make this clear, let me just tell you. Home is a safe haven. I think that a home is a feeling, and this feeling will affect you for a long time.
