Meaning of Home

Home to me, is more than shelter, it is a place where you make memories. Although I am incredibly grateful for the shelter, food, water etc., but sometimes making memories may be more enjoyable. Home is somewhere where you can go to see your loved ones, old or young. Home is a place you can laugh your butt off with loved ones. A place you can talk to anyone about anything, it is a safe place to be. Where you can make homemade meals or roast dinner on Saturday’s, where you cuddle up on the couch on a frosty winter night watching old comedy movies. A place where you can go home after a long day of work and become stress free at once. Where you can invite friends over to hangout (with COVID-19 you cannot right now but later or in the past.) Home also means sneaking candies at night with my dad or waking up early on weekends to go to hockey. Everyone thinks of home differently but that is what home means to me. -Maya Foran
