The Meaning of Home

My home is important to me because it makes me feel safe and protected. It is nice to know that I have a roof over my head and I am so thankful for that. Every day my parents work hard to keep this house and I could not imagine moving out of this house. Because this is where it all started where I took my first steps, had my first phone and built relationships with my family and everything else. This is what home means to me. To this day it is hard for me to go through changes at my cottage as there are so many memories in that one place. For example this summer at my cottage we will be getting rid of a whole room and it will be hard because we are getting rid of memories. But, there will always be more memories to come. I can't imagine how the homeless go through constant losses and moves. Not having a house, a job or food and each day having to look for food and shelter, especially if they had it one day and not the next. What makes me happy is that by writing this I will be helping the homeless and if everyone in my class writes an essay then we will be able to earn $260 to go towards people who really need a home. - Kylie Cinnamon
