House Or Home
Home. Maison. Domicile. Casa. Spiti. Heimat. Home is translated in many different languages. Doesn’t that mean that it is important?
For me, a house means a building with a roof over my head, with walls, heating and necessities that I need to survive. A home is different from a house. A home can be anywhere: in the forest, on the streets, in a hotel but many people call a house a home. What makes a home is something that is not physical, not something you can touch or see; it’s mostly something that you can feel, smell and smile about. If you say that something feels like home, then you may feel protected and safe in that area, even though you don’t live with a roof over your head. It’s where you make all of your memories to cherish with each other. It’s where you get yummy food from your parents and spend time with your family. You can have parties, have movie nights, and play board games all day. Home is where you can express yourself and talk as much as you want. Home is a comfortable and safe feeling.
Not everyone has a house. Maybe not even a home. Even though they may live on the streets, they may not want to live there and they would rather live in a house where they feel more protected and comfortable. They don’t feel safe where they live, and they want a change. Sadly, some people in this world don’t have enough money to buy or own a house. Some people don’t even have a job. This is why we need to take action and help those specific people who need a house that feels like home to them. We need to make sure that everyone gets what they deserve and need to survive and to feel safe. It’s up to us to help; so let’s take action now.
