Everybody Deserves A Home

Everybody deserves a home, A place where they belong, A house, An apartment, Or even a cabin, A home is a place where good things can happen. A place that they can be themselves, A place that can be built, Destroyed, And then rebuilt. Lots of people who live in a home, Or a house, Or an apartment, Don’t appreciate how lucky they are, Always saying “We need a better house, a house better than this”, Scowling at the house they have, not realizing that there are people in the world who don’t have a house at all, If they would appreciate thier house, And show respect to people who didn’t own one, The world would be a better place, If people appreciated how much they actually had, If they donated money to build homes, To people who don’t have them. People who don’t have a house, Are not homeless, Because a real home is inside your heart. Everybody deserves a home, A place where they belong, A house, An apartment, Or even a cabin. I made this poem to show how lucky we are that we have a house, an apartment, or any other types of homes. We really don’t appreciate how lucky we are that we have a roof over our head. Some people don’t appreciate that, wanting more, and more. The reason I entered this contest is I want everybody to have a home, and when I heard that ten dollars would be donated each time somebody wrote an essay or poem for the contest, I was even more interested. I am glad through this contest that homes will be built.
