What Does Home Mean to Me?

Home can mean many different things and it can make you feel different ways. Home can feel safe, or it can feel like family, it can feel warm and inviting and it can feel like you never want to leave. It's different for everyone but this is what home means to me. Firstly, it’s a place to rest. After doing online school, I go for a walk to stretch my legs so when I come back home, I get to rest like a dog after a big run. At the end of the day everything is quiet and peaceful as I close my eyes and enjoy my sleep. Secondly, I get to spend time with my family. I love hanging out with my brother and cousins, visiting my aunt and uncle and just being able to see my family, especially during the holidays. Lastly, the community. It's always a joy to take a walk around the block because there are people to talk to and sometimes you get to pet their dog! Also, I always know I'm home when I see any of the houses from my block. Whether it’s walking around the block, resting peacefully or spending time with family, home only means one thing to me: love.
