The Meaning of Home

There are many meanings for home. According to the dictionary the definition of home is a place where one lives. To me a home is where you feel welcomed and loved. More phrases that mean home to me are: a place where you and your family spend time together often and a place where you can be as crazy and loud as you want and nobody will judge you. There are multiple differences between a house and a home. To me a house is a building. Something to shelter you from the elements. A home has sentimental value. You can build a house anytime, but it takes time to make a home a home. Moving away from your home is hard. Living in another person’s former home after you just left yours. This summer I moved away from my home but after a few months I felt at home. Family is what makes a home special. That is what home means to me.
