What is a home?

A home is not just a structure with walls, a ceiling, and a roof. Well, a home still has walls, a ceiling, and a roof but it also has that feeling of home sweet home. What is the feeling of home sweet home? The feeling of home sweet home is family photos, a place to feel calm and relaxed, feeling cozy and being able to spend time with family. Houses are homes when there is no life in them. In other words, a house is a shelter. A home is still a shelter, but it is a structure with things that make you who you are such as a soccer net, computer, console, and most of all your family. In a home you can make memories, you can joke, laugh, and spend time with the people closest to you. If you live in a house, you might wake up and just be like the meh emoji. In a home, you wake up to the comfort of your home, and your siblings screaming. Homes contain furniture and toys that might mean something to you. In my home, we have this rocking chair made from Jamaican wood that we got passed down from one of our family members who lived in Jamaica for a while. It is very special to us because it came from a special place and a special person.
