What Home Means to Me

A home is a special place. It may be where I hang your hat. It could be a place where I find safety and calm. It could be where I find fun and excitement. But no matter what I feel in your home I will always be able to come back to it after a day and feel good! I used to live in Edmonton. That was where I was born and where I was raised for the first 5 years of my life! That apartment was an important part of my life. I would play and learn all in that room in that building. Now I live in Ontario, and I will tell you that when I moved, I wasn't so thrilled. My sister was just born and had to leave all my friends that I had made in another whole province. I was making a huge change to my whole life. Eventually, I made my new home feel like the old one. I would make new friends and get used to it. That is when that feeling it was talking about started settling in. That is my story of my homes and what home means to me. We must recognize that home is not a good place for everyone. Some people don’t even have a home. That is why we must work hard to reduce poverty and homelessness around the world. Thank you for listening-
