What Home Means to Me

A home is a word with many meanings, like an apartment. A home is not always a shelter, and a shelter is not always a home. For example, you could live in a loving place, but you could always be on the move. Or you could live in a nasty place under a roof. If you’re loved, it’s a home. To me, a home is loving, happy, and safe. Let’s talk about those things. In my home, I have two loving parents. Each weekday, they go to work to support us. They also cook, pay bills, and I do chores and sometimes even cook! We also like spending time with each other, like playing board games and watching movies. I could go on forever, but we’re running out of time. We also keep each other happy when we feel down. If one of us is not feeling well, we help without complaints. Our home is a hub for happiness. My mother is an optimist who thinks on the bright side, and my father can fix anything in the house! I also call my grandmother every night, and that makes us happy. When our friends visit, it’s their home too. Our home, because we are happy and loved, is also safe. I go to sleep knowing I have a roof over my head. In gales and in rain, our walls support us. We also live in a good community. We know we can live in a safe place. If you see a homeless person, do the best you can to help. Don’t forget that love, safety and happiness can change a person entirely! And it can start with you.
