What Home Means to Me
My home looks like a yellow dandelion with green tiles around the windows as if they were vines,
with a dog whose fur is as golden as the blazing sun above us,
also with two cats: with one being as black as the sky at midnight,
and the other being as white and gray as slush and snow,
A lot of Lego displays,
My home sounds like a dog barking,
with cats meowing,
my dad mowing the lawn,
my mom on a Zoom call,
my sister playing with her toys,
The background music in video games that I play,(Zelda,Minecraft,Among us, Prodigy)
The fire alarm going off when my mom and dad open the oven to get supper out of the oven,
The humming noise of the heat pump,
The tap running water into the sink,
My home smells like fresh chocolate chip cookies,
Crispy but burnt pizza crust,
Cool and fresh air in all of the rooms,
Greasy meatballs in the kitchen,
My home tastes like greasy and cheesy homemade pepperoni pizza with soft and crispy crust,
Salt on the goldfish crackers that I eat when I am hungry,
Tomato sauce on the plates of spaghetti my mom and dad have made for me and my little sister,
Huge and delicious slices of cucumber that I just cut up,
Crunchy but not stale Doritos that are sometimes in my room,
My home feels like soft and comfortable beds,
Fluffy and furry cats and dogs,
The warm and cozy fireplace,
A place I can feel safe and calm,
A place where I am loved and appreciated,
A place where I am happy.
