The Feeling of Home
A house has walls and a door
But a home is so much more
Not the walls, but what’s inside
It holds our hopes, our dreams, our pride
A home is a place where memories are made
And where our dreams will never fade
It is a sanctuary
And it is necessary
And so I pour my heart into this poem
To explain exactly what is a home
Not just the things that you can clutch
But also our dreams we soon can touch
You sleep in a house
But dream in a home
No matter the shape
A square or a dome
Every inch of my home
Bottom to top
Is filled with unconditional love
That will never stop
No matter if we move
Or where we go
This will follow me
Into the unknown
My home is my home
No one could take this away
Even if I leave the physical one
The feeling will always stay
I hope that everyone understands
How important this is to have at hand
I wish for everyone to experience
What a home feels like and not just the appearance
A home is a safe place that everyone needs
Because this will help them to succeed
Please do not underestimate
How much we should all appreciate
The huge effect homes have on us
