The Meaning of Home

The meaning of home: Home is my favorite place to be I look outside and there's a tree I see the old memories Of the swing I used to swing on with my family. I lay back down on the couch We're me and my friends used to laugh about How I fell off the swing. My home was always there Even when I wasn't there. It was there when I was sick and lonely It was there when no one could hold me. It shares my high and low times A shoulder where I could cry. It saw my happy moments The first time that I walked and talked I hope I never have to say goodbye Or half of me would be lost. There is a big difference between a house and home Because a house is just a building But home is somewhere you can go. If you need a comforting space Or a just a welcoming place, Home is where you go to get rid of the trace. The trace of any sadness, or anger, or fear. If you ever feel alone remember your home is always near. -Londyn -12 years old
