What Home Means To Me

A home is a place to relax and feel safe. A home is a place where I feel relieved and get the stress off my shoulders. It is a place to have family over with turkey dinners and stuffing. It’s a place to cherish all the splendid memories and traditions. It's a place to laugh with your loved ones, sharing popcorn while watching family movies. When I think of food and family, I think of my dad’s homemade pizza for my family to enjoy. When I walk into my home, from the bitter weather in the winter and the humid weather in the summer, I feel safe and protected from the outside. Home is where you will live until you embrace your mind to a different house with different furniture, walls, paintings, pots, pans and lastly, a new future. When you obtain a new home, it is not a real home until you add memories, family, friends and food. I think that when most people think of home, they think of it as just a place to live, but it is so much more than that. People need to think of what makes a home, a home. A home is made with love and care. It’s made with memories, traditions and family. If you think back, from when you just moved into your house, there were barely any funny or memorable moments. But once you have experienced all the fun and memorable times then you can reflect and just say wow! The word home means so much more than you think!
