Home

Home. A small word with big meaning and significance. What does home mean to you? To me, home means loving family, comforting familiarity around you, and happiness. Home is wherever you feel most loved and happy and I feel that way wherever my family is! To me home means family. Family is important because they like you for who you are and don’t judge you negatively. This makes me feel comfortable. I can be who I am without worrying about being judged. How do you feel about your family? Do they mean everything to you, do they have little significance in your life, or somewhere in between? Another way to feel at home is a place you have a bond with. I also feel at home when my surroundings are familiar. I would feel less at home if my family moved because everything would be new. If your family has been living in a place for a long time, there may be a lot of little things that come from your ancestors. I know my house so well, and the home is filled with our stuff scattered everywhere. I have memories in some of our objects that come back to life when I look at them. Do you have a place like this? Maybe your family has been living there for generations. Or maybe something momentous happened to you or your family there. Another way to think about home is somewhere you feel safe and happy. When I feel safe I feel warm and protected. Home is somewhere you feel comfortable and unlimited and safe. Where you are most happy is often home. It’s all the comfort and familiarity and love all working together to make you joyous.
