What does home mean to me?

A home has many things in it. Your home is a place where you can stand tall, be brave, have fun, be awesome and a lot more. A home isn't like a house, a house is made out of bricks and wood but a home is made out of love and compassion so you can do anything you want to do in your home. A home is a place that shelters me and protects me from the weather. I can sleep comfortably in my home without anything disturbing me. It is spacious and has food and water for me. My parents bought my home even though it didn’t look nice, but the longer I lived in that house the more it started to become my home. I am lucky to have a house because 1 in 8 houses do not have a warm, safe, decent and affordable place to live in and 17.8% of people that rent a house pay more than half their income on shelter. When I first got my house it didn't have that much stuff, but over the years it started to get more and more stuff. Many people don't have homes so we thank Habitat For Humanity for this chance to help our community and give people a place to call home.
