Home
Home is shelter
Home is no hoax
Home is so joyous I love it the most
Out of all places on Earth from ocean to sea
Home is the place that I want to be.
Where my family gather to sing a proud song
Singing so loud it sounds like a bomb
And when summer strikes I can finally swim
With my amazing parents that always let me win
Home keeps me cool in the summer and warm in the winter
Protecting us from scorching heat and blisters
But when winter comes in with a mischievous breeze
I always know that I will be pleased
Because of my parents' persistence for me to have fun
They usually have me always on the run
Home is a wonder every day
Learning new things in every way
Riding my bike through the neighborhood
Makes me see friendly faces row on row
Seeing the lake view through the window
Makes me feel proud to call this place home
Home is where I feel safe, tranquil, and calm
Knowing that the next day will be fond
Of memories ranging from the piano to the great outdoors where it always seems to snow
Though home sometimes isn’t a house
For me it’s where family is about
And it isn’t just where I keep my stuff
It's where joyous laughter is endless enough.
It’s a place to return at the end of the day
Or just to hang out if we want to stay
All of these things are what home means to me
And I hope this poem will bring someone glee
